1. Face to Face Skills
            Communication between two or more people by Direct contact.

Advantage of face to face skills:
         Help people to express their feelings, idea much better.
         Help to realize easily if the person is sincare through their manner.
         Can get response immediately without miss understanding.
1. Variation in tone.
         Pitch
         Pace
         Stress
         Pauses.etc

2. Nonverbal
  1. Body language
         Eye-contact
         Gesture
         Body shape
         Posture
         Apearance
b. Facial expression.
         Surprise
         Anger
         Happiness
         Determinations
         Sad.
         Fear.
         Interest.

c. Gesture
         Yawning ‘I’m bored
         Shaking fist ‘I’m angry
         Clapping hands
         Placing first finger on lips.

2. Formal and Informal Communication
  1. Formal Communication.
Communication effort that are “dressed up” to fit customary rules and ceremony.
In work place, with people whom we don’t know we communicate formally.

-3 types of formal communication
  1. Downward (upper management down to subordinate)
  2. Upward (employees to upper level management)
  3. Horizontal (across peers within the group or organization).

2. Informal Communication.
         Form communication sharing typically used in personal conversations.
         With our family members, friens and ones to whom we are close, we generally communicate formally.
         Saying “hey” instead of hello.

3. Obstacles to Effective Communication at Work
         Perceptual barrier:
            difference of opinion between two people
         Ego involvement
         Physical barrier
         Competition for power, status and reward
         Lack of communication skills
         Lack of trust between management and employees.
         Closed communication climate.
