The Opinion Regarding Traditional Music

        Gambang Kromong is traditional music of Jakarta, this music is very closely related to the Betawi people, mainly Chinese descent. The music is usually played at weddings, musical entertainment, accompany traditional Betawi dance, theater Lenong Betawi and other Betawi arts.

        As I Betawi people quite concerned because this increasingly modern era, where music is growing and the emergence of streams new music makes traditional music began shifting its existence. Perhaps only a few people who still listen to traditional music. Especially teenagers today when asked about the traditional music they do not really know or just heard.

        As a parent or a person who knows about the traditional music of this we shall introduce to our children, so that they know and have a sense of love, pride of the traditional music, Gambang Kromong. We could help preserve this music and we don’t have to be shy to introduce it.
