Opinion About Hijab

As we know Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim population in the world. Nearly 90% of Indonesia's population converted to Islam. As a country that is predominantly Muslim, Indonesia upholds the norms of decency, one of modesty in dress.

            Dressed nice and polite is one application of the norms of decency and give comfort to the wearer as well as its own security, particularly in women. Currently in Indonesia is not a few women who choose to wear the hijab / veil as the choice of the clothes they wear.

Hijab is derived from Arabic meaning muhajabah closed. However, in urban areas the question is whether the Hijab is used as an obligation to close the genitals for women, or perhaps simply as a platform to show off style, especially in Indonesia hijab fashion industry is growing.

         I am very concerned that most women now only make the hijab as a dress to show off style. Like a veiled but "naked". That’s mean they wear veils, but not in accordance with religion, or not Shar'ie. Shar'ie Hijab for Muslimah are when their out of the house wearing a long dress (abaya), khimar or veil covers the head, neck to cover the chest. As described in Surah An-Nur: 31, “And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed."

"O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.(Al-Ahzab:59)"

But today not a few Muslim women who wear veils, but does not cover their chests, even wearing clothes that show the curves, wear hijab but subordinate to wear leggings, Naudzubillah. Wear clothes like that very embarrassing. Even very sad when I see a woman who does not wear hijab clothing more polite than women who wear the hijab but wearing tight clothes and wear tights or leggings. Plus hijab tutorial tutorials more sales sold in bookstores, which change destination not wear hijab because want to close the genitals for Allah, but only want to style it.

           Muslimah would not hurt if we use the hijab in accordance with the provisions of Islam. Precisely with hijab syar'i we can keep ourselves from things we do not want. Don’t you reviling yourself and you do not take pride in the beauty that you have if you can not keep. Keep all the beauty that is in yourself for your future husband.
